3. Who Is The Ricin Meant For?

47breaking Bad Last season, viewers were surprised by the flashforward showing a dishevelled Walter White €“ who had obviously been through hard times €“ keeping an M60 tucked away in his trunk. It was obvious there was something big he meant to do, perhaps going out in a blaze of glory or gearing up for a rescue? Whatever reason, it gave the audience something to ponder over. This season we again visited the flash-forward, showing a dilapidated White household and Walter risking re-entry to his former house for the small vial of ricin. He still has the M60 in his trunk and he's on his way to kill some people, but what is it that's worth risking his freedom to go back for the ricin? What can it do that the M60 can't? The end of 'Granite State' may hold the answer: perhaps Walter plans to use it on Elliot and Gretchen Schwartz. They both went on public television and slandered Walter's image and contribution to their company, Gray Matter Technologies. This act wakes Walt up out of his despairing acceptance, opting to leave the bar instead of wait for the police to arrest him as he originally intended. Could he now be on his way to get revenge on the people who supposedly cut him out of the business? And on that note...
