2. Hank & Gomie Are Dead

As we said, things looked pretty bleak for Hank and Gomez when that screen faded to black at the end of Tohajiilee. They were outgunned, in the middle of the desert and hiding behind a van that is eventually going to give way to the volley of bullets being peppered down on them. Hank's phone call to Marie set alarm bells ringing that we were about to see the last of the likable Special Agent. Baby, I got him, dead to rights." You got Walt? Marie says, surprised. I got him in handcuffs as we speak. Want me to wave to him for ya? Oh, my God, Marie says, beginning to cry. You did it. Thank God. Things gonna be a little rough for the next couple weeks, Hank grumbles. But theyll get better. He hears Marie sniffling. Baby, you OK? Im much better now, Marie says, smiling through her tears.
I gotta go. It may be a while before I get home. I love you." Yeah, that whole "it may be a while before I get home" line reminds us of Captain Scott's famous last words - "I am just going outside and may be some time". For the uninformed, Captain Scott froze to death. Hank and Gomie's demise, though tragic, would also make sense considering it'd be just about the only thing keeping Heisenberg off the hook. Walt made some pretty damning confessions to Jesse on the phone while racing toward Tohajiilee, confessions which were doubtlessly recorded by Hank. Hank and Gomie die, however, and those confessions might magically vanish.
