Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

7. Gus Fring

Breaking Bad Saul Goodman Bob Odenkirk
AMC

What makes Gustavo "Gus" Fring such a memorable antagonist comes from the way in which he mirrors Walt: Gus is who Heisenberg thinks he is - or can become - and the biggest obstacle in the way of him realising his potential.

Both cold and ingeniously manipulative, Gus could change the mood in a room with a simple twitch, was capable of great violence, and was dedicated to revenge and power like no one else either Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul have ever introduced.

Watching him destroy the Cartel and squash his enemies like bugs was horrifying stuff, as is seeing his previously unexplored backstory on BCS. From his Jekyll & Hyde persona to his iconic demise, Gus was a character who loomed large over everything happening on screen, never missing the opportunity to shock and appal.
