Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
1. Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman
The Breaking Bad franchise may have started with Walter White, but it's ending with Saul Goodman, the shady criminal lawyer responsible for putting most of the show's characters in contact with each other, with devastating consequences.
Though in Breaking Bad Saul is portrayed as little more than a funny, eccentric and crafty lawyer with countless criminal connections, in Better Call Saul he's given much more time to shine and grow.
Born Jimmy McGill, he wanted to become a lawyer like his brother Chuck after a run-in with the law, but after a series of hardships and betrayals - courtesy of his older sibling, mostly - he used his conman past to reinvent himself as a lawyer for criminals willing to pay.
Throughout all of this, Bob Odenkirk expertly navigates Saul's limitless complexities, from his sensitive relationship to his brother, his slimy manipulation tactics, his love for Kim, and his ingenious ability of saving anyone from any situation. As it stands, there's no character more compelling than the lawyer formally known as Jimmy.
