2. Season Five: Felina
The series finale, Felina is everything fans wanted and more. Like all great shows, it was always a worrying thought that Breaking Bad would have to come to an end, because final episodes are so often uninspired and even insulting.
But there was no such let-downs with Felina, an episode which catapults Walt back into the action in hopes of saving Jesse from his tormentors and perhaps doing something good with his final moments on earth. Before he heads out, he spends some time reminiscing about his time as Heisenberg, and plots a daring rescue.
The final action sequence alone would be enough to see Felina land this high on the list, but there's just so much more to it than that shock reveal of a machine gun in Walt's car. It's also an episode of catharsis, as Walt admits that he liked being the bad guy before getting one last moment with his daughter.
The closing shots of Walt's body and Jesse deliriously crying and laughing as he races to some kind of unknown freedom is enough to make you tear up. It's dark, strangely comforting, and would be #1 if not for one other season finale...
