Breaking Bad: Every Season Finale Ranked Worst To Best
3. Season Three: Full Measure
In a show with countless game-changing moments, Full Measure stands out from the pack in a big way. It finds Walt and Jesse in a precarious position with Gus; they know they're expendable to him, and therefore in danger, so they plot a way - any way - to keep themselves alive and under Gus' employ.
But nothing seems to work. Season three had made it clear just how dangerous and intelligent Gus was, but Full Measure really cements his place as Walt's most formidable opponent. Always one step ahead, he thwarts Walt at every turn, and in the end Jesse has only one option to save them both: kill their replacement, Gale.
In one of the series' most harrowing moments, Jesse shoots Gale in the head to keep them alive. Like the rest of the episode, it's a monumental shocker, effortlessly emphasising how far Jesse is under Walt's manipulative thumb.
With phenomenal performances throughout - especially from Aaron Paul - the episode puts Walt and Jesse is a strong if strained position with Gus, and it ends with perfect ambiguity about what could possibly happen next.
