Breaking Bad: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

3. Season 2

Breaking Bad Walt Jesse
AMC

When Breaking Bad first started, it looked like we were just watching a cancer stricken man who was in way over his head trying to make it in the meth business. With only a handful of episodes to digest, it looked like this kind of schtick was going to run out pretty quickly, since this family man would never make it in the world of evil drug lords. Looking at the second season, Walt and Jesse both go through more growth than you probably remember.

Outside of the usual drug shenanigans, Walt is slowly starting to morph into the Heinseberg persona that we all know, going from scared and intimidated by Tuco in the first episode to having the guts to tell rival drug dealers to stay out of his territory. At the same time, we also get to see Jesse have more heart than he did in the first season, from saving a child from trauma in Peek a Boo to blaming himself for the death of Combo on a street corner.

As much as the first few episodes give us a lot of food for thought, the final few episodes are where things start to turn a corner, with Walt refusing to save Jane from choking, which leaves Jesse heartbroken and her father involuntarily causing a plane crash in the process. According to Mr. White himself, the last few minutes of this season were where everything went wrong. And let's face it, would you want to start up something with Heisenberg?
