Brooklyn Nine-Nine: 10 Best Episodes Ranked
1. HalloVeen
This list wouldn't be complete without at least one ‘Halloween Heist’ episode, the best of which has to be the heist the for the "Championship Cummerbund".
This heist had everything, double crosses, triple crosses, and the return of Bill the creepy Boyle look-alike, and of course Holt shouting the words "you're not Cheddar, your just some common b*tch".
The episode also ends with one of the best TV proposals ever with Jake swapping out the "cummerbund" at the last second to ask Amy to marry him. This scene was a perfect example of what makes 99 so great. They ride the line between comedy and romance so well, going from a genuine moment between Jake and Amy, back to hilarity as Charles bursts in and faints when he realises what's happened.
They do the same thing again when the gang is all at Shaw's bar talking about when Jake decided to propose. Going from Terry and Charles's funny examples, to Jake's simplistic and normal realisation, perfectly captures the show's tone and helps us realise that, as Rosa says, "romantic epiphanies are dope".
This episode gives you everything you could want from the show. It pulls at the heartstrings in a way only the Brooklyn squad can, while still making you roar with laughter.
