Brooklyn Nine-Nine: 10 Best Episodes Ranked

7. Honeymoon

Brooklyn Nine Nine
NBC

We all knew something was going to happen on Jake and Amy’s honeymoon, but what we did not see coming was it being interrupted by their depressed commanding officer.

Captain Holt is in a very dark place after not getting the commissioner job, which sees his deadpan attitude taken to whole new level. This is made even better by his endless supply of funny and sometimes “aggressive” T-shirts. The best of which, arguably, is one depicting a pineapple that is apparently a "slut".

In an attempt to cheer him up, the happy couple invite Holt to join them in doing the activities they booked. However, it soon becomes clear that three is very much a crowd in these events, which, among other things include "the art of feeding your lover".

The real highlight though comes when Jake and Amy try and act out some, incredibly character accurate, role play fantasies. Jake dresses up as Melvin Dewey to satisfy Amy's love of organisation while she dresses as Die Hard's Holly Gennaro, which drives Jake mad with excitement.

But this too is cut short by the Captain, who threatens to leave the 99 forever. This results in him being tide-up with the contents of Charles’s “box of horrors”, which is clearly meant to help spice up Jake and Amy’s wedding night.

This episode showcases Holt and his two best detectives at their hilarious best, what other explanation do you need as to why the Honeymoon should be on this list.
