Was there ever going to be a better send-off for Brooklyn Nine-Nine than for one last heist? This was the first one that didn’t sync up with any particular holiday, Halloween or otherwise, but it was still one of the best ever.

Hitchcock ultimately won the eighth heist, a conclusion that felt wrong in just about every way, but truly it didn’t actually matter what happened during the contest. This was about saying goodbye to the squad with so many of the team moving on to other things. The best part came a year after most of the team said goodbye to the Nine-Nine.

As Captain Jeffords addressed his new-look team, with Boyle, Hitchcock, and Scully the only familiar faces listening, he was interrupted first by Jake, then Holt, Amy, Rosa, and Gina. The squad may have all moved on with their lives, but they were a family, and at the very least would stay connected by the annual heist.

As heartbreaking as seeing everyone go their separate ways, fans of the show could at least take some solace in the knowledge that these silly Heists will go on in the squad's lives for many more years, even if it's never shown on screen.
