Brooklyn Nine-Nine: 10 Most Hated Supporting Characters

3. Melanie Hawkins

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Jason Stentley

On the face of it, Melanie Hawkins seemed like the perfect cop. She was undoubtedly a badass, she bonded with Rosa over bikes and Jake over Die Hard, and she was working a huge case to bring down the Golden Gang bank robbers. However, this was just a front.

Lieutenant Hawkins was in fact the ring leader of the gang, who posed as her squad trying to take them down. She was incredibly smart, but also ruthless, as she framed both Peralta and Diaz as the criminals behind the bank robberies.

She played and manipulated the two cops who idolised her, sending them both to prison for half a year and paying off anyone who could have testified against her to instead turn their accusations against Jake and Rosa. No matter what the squad did to try and bring her down, she was always one step ahead of them.

Her betrayal of two of New York's finest, and the arrogance with which she did it were hard to swallow, but what's worse it that she was one of the most highly regarded police officers in the department. People truly looked up to her, all the while she was nothing more than a dirty cop who used her position to her advantage. Thankfully, she got what she deserved.
