8. Gina's Mario Lopez Comment Pays Off
Gina was the first main character to leave Brooklyn 99, bowing out in Season 6 Episode 4 - The Four Movements. As a goodbye gift, Jake Peralta invites Gina's biggest crush to her farewell party, Mario Lopez, best known for playing AC Slater (and obviously Colonel Harold Sanders).
As hilarious as it is to see Lopez show up in Brooklyn 99, this cameo is extra satisfying if you remember Gina gushing about the Saved By the Bell actor back in Season 1. In the 14th episode, The Ebony Falcon, Rosa and Amy learn Gina has been robbed and so, try to get details in order to track down the perp. When Rosa and Amy ask Gina what was stolen, Gina rattles off a list of missing items, including a lock of Mario Lopez's hair, which she purchased from an online auction.
Although this line was probably improvised by the actress, Chelsea Peretti, it's funnier knowing it paid off five seasons later. Despite the fact most viewers wouldn't have remembered this throwaway line, it was totally worth it for those who did.
