Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Main Character RANKED
3. Charles Boyle
As Jake Peralta’s socially awkward sidekick, Charles Boyle’s bromance with the show’s lead character became a backbone of the series, particularly in the early seasons.
A lot of the show’s greatest moments involve Jake and Boyle’s immature, yet hilarious, antics. Boyle’s desperate need for acceptance saw him constantly massage Jake’s ego, arguably highlighting both character’s largest flaws, but in the most entertaining way possible.
Charles has a ‘lovable loser’ quality that makes him the kind of underdog you can’t help but root for. He’s naïve and clumsy but is also a dedicated and talented detective that shows a keen eye to detail, which he also showcases when it comes to his love of world foods.
Like most of the cast, Boyle has matured over the course of the series and is now a loving father to his adopted son, Nikolaj. With his eagerness to please everyone in his life, viewers want to see him succeed, even if he ends up going ‘full Boyle’ in most of his endeavours.
