Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Season 7 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

1. Ep 13: Lights Out

Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Fox

This season finale is packed full of memorable moments, ending the year on a perfect note. After a blackout plunges the city into darkness, Holt and Terry become trapped in a lift, leaving Amy to run the precinct whilst going into labour. This set-up is both suspenseful and hilarious, mainly thanks to Rosa, whose disgusted and panicked reactions are truly spectacular. It also offers a rare moment of heroism from Hitchcock and Scully, who set up a makeshift birthing suite for Amy.

Meanwhile, Jake and Charles face an arduous trek through the gridlocked city to make it back in time for the birth. Naturally, there's no shortage of craziness along the way - from picking up a trigger-happy old lady, to commandeering a bachelorette party's pedal pub. However, the funniest moment of the episode actually comes from Holt and Terry, who bust into a synchronised dance routine to distract Amy during the birth. It's impossible not to be transfixed by this jaw-dropping scene.

Speaking of the birth, naturally Jake makes it in time and as hilarious as the build up is, the aftermath of the big event is every bit as sweet and tender as you could hope for. We're treated to a beautiful moment between the happy parents and their new-born son, Mac, that's full of warmth. Then the final shot of the entire squad visiting them in the hospital is one of the sweetest moments of the show and a perfect note for the season to end on.
