Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Season Finale Ranked Worst To Best

6. Charges And Specs (Season One)

Jake Peralts And Captain Holt Brooklyn Nine Nine Charges And Specs

As the finale to the first season, this episode would set the benchmark for where the show would go next. It certainly did a good job of it, delivering on some big stakes and the comedy we'd come to love from the show's initial season. But, it falls a little flat due to similar issues as the previous entry.

Season one concluded with Jake investigating a civic leader with potential ties to drug trafficking. However, after being ordered to leave the case alone, he, Amy and Holt uncovered a vast conspiracy relating to the Lanucci crime family, resulting in Jake closing out the season by going undercover.

Alongside this is a hilarious subplot that sees Boyle's relationship with Vivian come to an end and his dramatic grieving process.

The outing is a perfect finale as it concluded the arcs the characters were going through, gave every cast member a decent chance to shine and delivered an epic twist ending that made you excited for the next season.

However, while it was (and still is) an excellent season finale, it's retrospectively dampened by its successors. Everything in this episode is solid but lacking creativity and flair, which, when compared to the other finales, makes it less memorable.
