Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)

2. Season Two

Brooklyn Nine-Nine
NBC

If season one was laying the groundwork for what was to come, season two is what it was promising. At the centre of the season lies the growing romance of Jake and Amy - which is complicated by other love interests and Amy's declaration that she's done dating cops - as well as Holt's increased involvement in the more madcap adventures of his detectives.

Throughout the season, fans are treated to Amy's hilarious drunkenness, the odd Boyle-Linetti wedding, and added focus on Jake's sometimes dangerous obsession with his job. Amongst other things, he meddles in Holt and Kevin's relationship, works a case despite numerous injuries, and falls in (again) with the Pontiac Bandit.

Between all these developments, Brooklyn Nine-Nine's second season also features more heart than the show's debut, allowing the cast to really dig into more dramatic sides of their characters.

For example, there's Jake confronting his deadbeat dad and letting him go, Jake and Amy finally getting together, and Holt being kicked from the 99 just as he was starting to feel at home.

Season two is a rollercoaster of emotions, easily moving between all-out comedy and surprising depth, and it would probably be number one on this list if it wasn't for one other season...
