Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One

9. Warren Mears

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Drusilla
Mutant Enemy

This is probably the most controversial pick on the list, but – as much as you might hate him – Warren is one of the best villains in the show.

He first appears in the fifteenth episode of Season Five when he makes a robotic girlfriend called April purely for his own pleasure. But this is tame compared to what he gets up to in Season Six.

With the help of Jonathan and Andrew, Warren becomes the central villain for the majority of the season. But whilst Jonathan and Andrew are little more than childish sidekicks, Warren is a vile individual. He's a total misogynist who attempts to seduce his ex-girlfriend using a cerebral dampener, and when this fails, he murders her before she can escape.

This is bad enough, but he also storms into the Summers' household and tries to kill Buffy by shooting her. Though the Slayer survives, a stray bullet hits Tara, causing Willow to turn into her dark alter-ego and murder Warren by flaying him alive.

Everything about Warren is detestable, and this is what makes him such a great villain.
