Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One
3. Tara Maclay
In the fourth season, many of our heroes move over to UC Sunnydale and find themselves interacting with a new cast of characters. Some, such as Kathy Newman and Parker Abrams, are total headaches. Tara, on the other hand, turns out to be the most loveable person in Sunnydale.
Her shy personality makes us root for her the moment she appears. And as we get to know her, she becomes even more likeable. In 'Family', for instance, we learn about Tara's troubled past and the origins of her insecurities. It's a great episode and a watershed moment for Tara.
Tara's relationship with Willow is also a key part of her arc. As well as pushing back against the conservative standards of the time, the romance between these two witches is full of twists and turns, particularly in Season Six.
The relationship ends in tragedy when Warren murders Tara in the infamous 'Seeing Red'. It's a horrific death for such a loveable character, but it's also one of the most moving scenes in the entire show.
