Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One

2. Faith Lehane

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Drusilla
Mutant Enemy

In the third episode of Season Three, Faith drops into Sunnydale and grabs our attention immediately. She's feisty, sexy, powerful, and –  beneath the surface  – deeply insecure.

Given she's a Slayer, Faith joins up with the Scooby Gang and helps them take down the forces of evil –   at least to begin with. In 'Bad Girls' and 'Consequences', she reveals her true colours and joins forces with Mayor Wilkins.

For the rest of the season, she proves to be a troublesome adversary. In addition to getting hold of the Books of Ascension, she nearly kills Angel by firing a poisoned arrow through his chest. She then continues her villainous ways in Season Four when she wakes up from a coma and goes hunting for revenge.

As well as being a fascinating character in her own right, Faith is a dark reflection of what Buffy could have become: a Slayer who relishes the power she wields and loves to cause pain. But this all changes in Season Seven.

Faith comes back for the last five episodes and helps our heroes take down the First Evil. It's a fitting final chapter for such a beloved character, and her romance with Robin is the perfect way to end her fascinating journey.
