Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Characters You Totally Forgot Existed

4. Scott Hope

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Owen
The WB

Scott was another Buffy love interest, this time in Season Three. He was ridiculously dull and came across as just "nice." That was a problem.

Over his short run on the show, it felt like there wasn't much development in his character until he broke up with Buffy. His reason for dumping her was her being distracted. Poor Buffy. She recently had to murder the love of her life because he was evil. She ran away from home because of it, came back and had to restart school with everyone talking about her.

Of course, she was distracted; she's been through hell and back. Quite literally, if we count that hell dimension that she found in L.A.

It was only once he and Buffy had broken up, that we saw Scott do anything. He spread rumours that Buffy was a lesbian, which would later be revealed (in Season Seven, to be exact), and he did so to try and mask his own sexuality.

As boring as he was, it was refreshing to see Buffy with someone ordinary after all that drama with Angel. It's sad that just as we warmed to Scott, he turned nasty.

Simon is a writer, cat dad and presenter of a geeky radio show with his husband. He loves Doctor Who (except 10 who can get in the bin…only joking.) He idolises Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lara Croft and would 100% be a Sith Lord in a galaxy far, far away. He wishes life was like a musical so he’d actually be a good singer.
