Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Characters You Totally Forgot Existed

3. Principal Bob Flutie

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Owen
Mutant Enemy

Principal Flutie is another casualty of Season One.

We all know and love Armin Shimerman's sinister Principal Snyder, but his predecessor is long-forgotten because he only appeared in a few episodes. Principal Flutie was a nice guy and deserved better, bless him.

Despite Buffy's record stating that she moved to Sunnydale after burning down the gym at her previous school, Bob just wanted to make sure she was okay. He told her how Sunnydale High was all about "getting to know their students better." Flutie insists that all Sunnydale students are free to call him Bob, "but they don't."

Ken Lerner, who played Flutie, is an accomplished actor with a massive filmography. Unfortunately, his character was killed halfway through Season One in the sixth episode, The Pact.

In that episode, Xander and a handful of other students are possessed and turn into Hyena people. They catch Flutie in his office and eat him alive. It's a tragic end for one of the very few adult characters we care for in Buffy's world.

He idolises Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lara Croft and would 100% be a Sith Lord in a galaxy far, far away. He wishes life was like a musical so he’d actually be a good singer.
