Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Most Hated Episodes

1. Where The Wild Things Are

Where the Wild Things Are is probably the most "yikes" episode of Buffy that was ever created. It contained themes of sexual abuse and for some reason the ghosts of the abused created supernatural events.

The themes of sexuality run through the episode to an uncomfortable degree. With walls that give people orgasms, to people losing their minds from playing spin the bottle. It's not very tasteful, particularly when it's the ghosts of the abused teenagers creating these events.

Buffy and Riley spend the majority of the episode stuck in a perpetual sex scene. The ghosts are taking energy from them, and eventually Buffy and Riley will die. It's a weird story and probably best not to think too much into it.

Fans noted that the sexual energy triggering the events makes no sense because it's been a frat house for a while, so surely something would have happened before. It's plotholes like this that make it feel like a forced filler episode that annoyed a lot of people.

Is it much surprise that Where the Wild Things Are was a season four episode? Season four has featured heavily in this list, and it's easy to see why on a rewatch.
