Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Most Underused Characters

5. Mr Trick

Sunday Buffy
Mutant Enemy

In season three, Mr Trick turned up as the new big bad vampire in town. A self-proclaimed "modern vampire" who could "see the big picture," he was responsible for the near-fatal Slayerfest '98, which almost killed Buffy and Cordelia, and the hilarious events of the episode "Band Candy."

Suave, stylish, sinister and slimy, Trick's ingenuity and craftiness proved to be a real headache for Buffy and the gang. Until, that is, he was hired by Mayor Wilkins to be his right-hand man. From then-on in Trick became stale and unoriginal, a boring plot device who never left the Mayor's side and lost all his fiery personality.

Despite his ability to go toe-to-toe with Buffy, he was killed and replaced by Faith, never to be mentioned again. His backstory was continuously hinted at, and his charismatic persona made him a joy to watch, but all of that was cast aside just so Faith could take his place.

It would have been cool for him to stick around and cause some more trouble all season round, and it's a real pain that he was so sloppily underused in the end.
