Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Most Uplifting Moments
9. Spike Comforts Buffy - Season 7, Episode 20
In the last moments of Season Six, Spike (James Marsters) was ensouled after taking part in the deadly demon trials in the hopes of becoming a better man for Buffy. He spends the majority of Season Seven brainwashed by the First Evil, forced to commit evil acts whilst simultaneously dealing with his centuries of guilt.
It took a while, but in time Buffy and most of the Scooby Gang grew to trust Spike and consider him an important ally. But it wasn't until the Season Seven episode "Touched" that the vampire was given a chance to really show off what kind of man he really was.
After Buffy is kicked out of her house by Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) and the Potential Slayers, Spike sticks up for her and heads out to bring her back.
When he finds her, Buffy is tired, disillusioned and heartbroken, and Spike takes the opportunity to give her an impassioned truth about how much she means to him and how much the others need her. Letting his inner poet shine, it's a deeply moving moment, concluding with Buffy sleeping peacefully in his arms before waking early to get her friends back.
