6. The Gang Stick Up For Tara (Season 5, Episode 6
In the Season Five episode "Family," Tara (Amber Benson) is surprised when her family come to Sunnydale to bring her back home. According to family legend, the women in her family are all evil demons and must stay with their family in order to be kept in check. Tara believes the stories, and elects not to tell her friends.
All of this coincides with the gang's realisation that they don't know Tara all that well outside of her relationship with Willow (Alyson Hannigan).
Eventually, the family return to claim Tara one last time, but realising that she doesn't want to go, Buffy stands up for her and refuses to let her be taken. She is joined by Dawn, Giles, Xander and Anya (Emma Caulfield), and hits every fan in the feels when she says, "We're her family".
Even a pre-ensouled Spike gets in on the action, proving to everyone that Tara isn't actually a demon and it's all just a family legend to control the women.
Tara's smile at the end is enough to make you cheer.
