Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Worst Things Spike Ever Did

3. Spike X Drusilla

The headline act in Spike’s troublesome relationship resume is his century-long off and on partnership with Drusilla. The mentally unstable Drusilla was Spike’s sire and lover for 100 years (with all the quasi-insestuous vibes this comes with), and while Spike likes to suggest that their romance is the stuff of legend, really it’s the stuff of nightmares.

For much of season two, Drusilla finds herself in a weakened state following an attack in Prague, and Spike uses this as an opportunity to assert his control over her, keeping her on a tight leash and making all the decisions for the couple as they attempt to take over Sunnydale.

Later, when she recovers, she seems to lose interest in the now-wheelchair bound Spike, but he won’t take no for an answer. At season two’s conclusion, he knocks her unconscious before spiriting her out of town. He returns to Sunnydale to force Willow to brew him a love potion following Drusilla’s latest rejection; he then abandons this idea in favour of torturing her until he gets his way.

To cap it all off, once he gets sick of her, he offers her up as a sacrifice to impress Buffy. Sure, things work a little differently with the undead, but this certainly doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship.
