Xander Harris is one of many underrated characters in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Though he’s part of the central trio, he doesn’t get as much love from the fanbase as Buffy and Willow.

Of course, this is somewhat understandable. Xander can often come across as immature, selfish, or rude. And when it comes to strength, power, and knowledge, he’s certainly one of the more dispensable members of the Scooby Gang.

But Xander is also one of the most relatable characters in the show. He struggles to find purpose, motivation, meaning, security, and love throughout his adventures in Sunnydale. Indeed, his comedic quips are often used to mask his insecurities, which is something that many teenagers and young adults can relate to.

What’s more, there are plenty of terrific Xander-centred episodes. ‘Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered', ‘The Zeppo’, and ‘The Replacement’ are some of the best episodes in their respective seasons.
