Casting Star Trek: Voyager Reboot

10. Kes - Lili Reinhart

Voyager Kes Lili Reinhart
Paramount/The CW

One of two Riverdale cast members to feature here, Lili Reinhart would make an excellent choice for a rebooted (and hopefully FAR better written) version of Kes. The Ocampan character was poorly written from the beginning in Star Trek: Voyager, with the show not really knowing what to do with her. Unfortunately, Jennifer Lien who played her was fired after three seasons.

Kes is a fascinating idea of a character. Living for only nine years, every element of life must be lived to the fullest as she quite literally doesn't have the time to spare. This could lead, not only to great comedy, but great tragedy as well. How does one find their calling in life, when these things often take years to master?

Reinhart has starred in Riverdale since the beginning of the show. As Betty Cooper, she has been everything from a reporter, to a dancer, a gang member and very nearly a murder victim. While Riverdale is absolutely bonkers, it has delivered again and again on the concept. If Kes were treated as suggested above, Reinhart has shown that she is maleable enough to jump through the hoops that would be set down in front of her.
