Casting The Star Trek: Enterprise Reboot

3. Charles 'Trip' Tucker - Nick Robinson

Nick Robinson Trip Tucker
Fox/CBS

Charles 'Trip' Tucker III, played by Connor Trinneer, was the beating heart of Enterprise. As chief engineer to the first warp five engine, he was closer to Scotty than Geordi, more likely to be found with a wrench in his hand than anything else. He was young but talented and our suggestion in this fantasy recast is Nick Robinson.

He has appeared in several big budget outings with Jurassic World being the most successful. While that film broke all box office records, it is some of his smaller roles that have given him a greater range. Love, Simon and The Kings of Summer both allowed him to bring an endearing humanity to the screen. What is Trip Tucker, if not the most human character on Enterprise?

The final episode of the show is reviled for its treatment of his character. In this reboot, Trip's fate will be quite different from that holodeck program Riker found!
