Castlevania Final Season Review: 6 Ups And 3 Downs

4. Up: Alucard

Castlevania Alucard Trevor Sypha Season 4
Netflix

A fan favourite character who had a bit of a slump in Season Three bounces back as one of the best things in the final season. The half-human son of Dracula finds himself front and centre throughout Season Four with a surprisingly touching arc at its core.

After struggling to find a balance between his humanity and his dark ancestry last season, Alucard is enlisted to help protect a small village from attacking Night Creatures and chooses to do whatever he can to keep them safe.

This storyline naturally ties into the larger plot concerning Dracula's resurrection but until then, Alucard is given great material as he bounces off of Saint Germain and newcomer Greta.

Most importantly, Alucard is given some of the best action sequences in the show as the animators continuously find new and interesting ways to showcase his abilities on screen. It is always dynamic to watch and after his slower methodical showing in the previous season, this is very much appreciated.

With a heartfelt and well-developed arc on display that the character deserves and a visual feast of violence and gore to perceive, Alucard is a consistent delight in Season Four.
