Castlevania Season 3: 11 Reasons You Should Watch
5. The Philosophy
A surprising amount of cerebral discussion around philosophy is whipped out for this season, and for all that Castlevania excels at action, the quiet conversations between characters on the nature of sin and morality are no slouch in comparison.
Most of this comes from scenes with protagonist du jour Isaac, with him discussing the nature of death, hell, the human condition, and sin, with every human he meets that isn't rude to him (and one night creature in his army that speaks remarkably well).
The night creature speaks of the way the idea of sin changed rapidly in his time living, and how extremes fuelled by politics and religion pushed him to commit sin and end up in hell. The jovial Captain who treats Isaac with kindness advises Isaac, with all his immense power, to spread kindness and see where it takes him.
The nature of evil also looms over this season like a dark cloud, with how certain characters aren't as they first appear, and how adventure and horror can go hand in hand. It also presents characters introduced as "evil" acting surprisingly human, showing how nothing is as black and white as first presented.
