Sadly, the series
Chuck, about an average guy turned secret agent, came to an end last night. It's last episode on NBC was a two hour finale, and brought in fans of the series for record high ratings. The show brought in 4.2 million viewers in the first half of the finale entitled "Chuck Versus The Goodbye" and picked up even more in the second half entitled "Chuck Versus Sarah" with a rating of 1.3.
Chuck has maintained fairly good ratings since its beginning, though it suffered a bit its last season. Still, last night was a season-high and the show tipped its hat goodbye in style. Fox showed a new episode of
Fringe, which brought in slightly less then
Chuck (3.4 million) but was fairly consistent for the network. NBC has been struggling with ratings recently, resulting in many mid-season
shifts and breaks, and even with all of the people that tuned in last night, ABC still topped them with a new episode of
Shark Tank, which brought in 5.4 million views. It is not yet known what will replace
Chuck in coming seasons, but NBC just
greenlit several new pilots so it really is anyone's game. So, on behalf of everybody here at Whatculture let me just say: Farewell
Chuck you (but mostly Sarah) will be sorely missed.
