Cobra Kai Season 3: 10 Bold Predictions
7. Hawk Flips the Script... Too Much
Hawk's sudden transformation from ostracised nerd to thuggish bully was a jarring change, until the midpoint of season 2 provided some much needed development to the character.
Though he quickly becomes a pantomime villain as the sophomore season unfolds, his motivations are apparent and, like Tory to Daniel, Kreese is undeniably the overbearing devil on the shoulder of a kid who's already severely tripping on the power he's acquired through karate.
Miguel and Hawk were once social outkasts and have since become immensely capable fighters, and though their right hook has hugely improved, their confidence has seen the most rapid transformation. Miguel's self-esteem followed a path of decency, albeit with a few hiccups here and there, but as Hawk walked taller his demeanour became increasingly more sinister.
Doubling down on Hawk's descent into villainy would provide a natural source of adversity for Cobra Kai's good guys instead of shoe-horning in yet another baddie into the mix. He now has Kreese whispering in his ear to further fuel his cruel ambitions, so expect Hawk to play a far more significant role this time around, maybe even as the overarching series' bad guy.
