Community: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One

5. Rachel

Community Rachel Abed
NBC

Community does not put as much emphasis on romantic relationships as some of its rival sitcoms. However, with the introduction of Rachel, the show proved that Abed with a love interest is comedy gold.

Played by a pre-Oscar Brie Larson, Rachel and Abed first meet during Herstory of Dance, a good episode from the show's controversial fourth season. Rachel takes an interest in Abed when it becomes clear to her that he is living a TV trope by going on a date with two women at the same time. Though Abed falls for neither woman, he ends up falling for Rachel.

Unfortunately, Rachel doesn't appear again until Season 5, when she and Abed rekindle their relationship. Abed even tries to get Rachel to move in with him and Annie, leading to a hilarious game of Pile of Bullets. Though this upsets Rachel, since Abed forgot to ask if she even wanted to move in with them, Abed makes it up to her with an adorable apology straight out of a rom com, complete with fabricated indoor rain.

The only bad part of Rachel's character is that she leaves the show so soon. After she and Abed make amends, she leaves the show without so much as a goodbye. Though Brie Larson soared higher, further, and faster than she would have if she stuck with Community, fans sorely missed Rachel throughout the show's sixth and final season.
