Community: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One

You can't leave a guy off of a 10 best Community characters who appear after Season 1 list on his birthday!

By the time Community hit its fifth season, many of its main cast members started to leave. First Pierce departed the show, then, five episodes into the season, Troy followed suit. The show needed replacements for these beloved characters in order to stay afloat for its final two seasons.

Enter Buzz Hickey. Played by Jonathan Banks, this gruff Greendale professor meets Jeff when the two share an office after Jeff himself becomes a professor. The two soon become friends, and Hickey is integrated into the Save Greendale Committee.

It would have been easy to make Hickey simply "Pierce 2.0," but he goes beyond filling Pierce's shoes and becomes his own unique character. While Pierce cared too much what everyone thought of him, Hickey barely minded anyone else's opinion, coming across as aloof. This was a perfect counter to his softer side, such as writing and drawing a comic strip called "Jim the Duck." He also proves that he genuinely cares about his new friends, though he has a strange way of showing it, like "punishing" Abed by preventing him from watching a Kickpuncher movie.

Hickey's introduction helped keep Community rolling after losing two incredible characters. Unfortunately, Hickey only lasts one season, and has to be replaced himself for Season 6.
