1. Remedial Chaos Theory (S3, E3)
It may be weird to some that this ranks so high on this list, but the Remedial Chaos Theory episode from season 3 is one of my favorite episodes from Community. The plot centers around a seemingly innocent dice throw that conjures up seven different timelines for the episode. The great thing about this episode is that each timeline showcases the characters differently through small mini-events. It seems impossible that so much can happen within the 3 minutes of each timeline, but so much does. A lot of it foretells future events, like how Annie having a gun is tied in to her moving from her apartment into Abed's and Troy's place. The best part about this episode is that each timeline tells you more about each and every character than one timeline on its own. It's just brilliant in its execution. It is also great to see the timelines somehow made relevant in future episodes, where we see the darkest timeline have an effect on the final episode of season 3. Even in future seasons, it's very possible that the show can revisit these timelines and tell a story relating to one of them. Greatest Community episode ever!
Highlight: The darkest timeline. So that is all for this list folks. Hopefully season 4 of Community can deliver just as good as previous seasons. There have been a few changes to the show, with original creator Dan Harmon not running the show anymore to Chevy Chase (Pierce) leaving the show in season 4.
