Community: 10 Best Guest Stars

Look, the Vice Dean is just going through some stuff - okay?

Community John Goodman
Sony Pictures Television

Community followed the story of a group of community college students who form a study group which leads to misadventures and comedy. The show was surreal, with episodes that were musical based, animated with claymation and puppets, or with the appearance in one episode of honest to god zombies.

Community may have ended in 2015, but the show still has a large fanbase - one that looks set to grow, with the series now on Netflix. The show had a unique and oftentimes surreal sense of humour that was helped in part by its wild range of guest stars.

There were a lot of guest stars in the show who came in for an episode or two and added a strangeness to the world of Greendale that was unrivalled in any other series. These cameos went from the mildly weird to the downright bizarre, with some coming straight out of left field. Some of these stars are just that, and by bringing in big names, the show remained fresh and hilarious.

Community may be gone, but it will always hold its place in TV history - especially when it came to its cameos.

10. Joe Lo Truglio

Community John Goodman
Sony Pictures Television

Joe Lo Truglio is a comedian who has made his mark in comedy for over 2 decades. It's not hard to understand why. He is an incredibly funny and talented comedian who brings an incredible energy to every role he takes on.

In recent years, this main role has been Charles Boyle in the former Fox turned NBC smash comedy Brooklyn-99. This has been a fantastic role for Lo Truglio, giving him a chance to really shine as the food-loving eccentric detective.

Lo Truglio starred in 2 episodes of Community at the end of season 4, playing Jeff's ex-colleague and friend, Mark. The first was Heroic Origins, an episode in which Abed tries to piece together the group's origin story on 'The Crazy Quilt of Destiny', a large chart he drew depicting the events of their lives before Greendale.

In the episode, it is shown that Mark is the one who told Jeff that he was being disbarred after it was revealed he had never received his undergraduate degree. Lo Truglio returned the next week, in the season finale Advanced Introduction to Finality. He comes back to offer Jeff a job at his new firm on the eve of his graduation. Jeff ends up turning the job down and Mark never returns to the show.
