Community: 10 Best Relationships

4. Troy And Britta

Community Shirley Anthropology

The seemingly unexplainable mismatch that is Troy and Britta may have had people initially scratching their heads. When was this foreshadowed? When was this established? When do we even see them interact away from the group beyond a handful of episodes? Well, to sum up how their relationship went, in the words of Troy himself: "It was awesome, but also...it wasn't?"

Despite Community finally substituting Jeff out for another one of the study group members that could've just as easily become embroiled in a romance, this was more of an exercise in mundanity than anything profoundly interesting. In what should have been a riveting and refreshing viewing experience, watching Troy fall for someone in the group, the overall concept is weighed down by the series' biggest problem: the gas leak year. More prominently known as season 4.

We don't spend too much time with Troy and Britta as a couple and the majority of the time we do, they're either bickering like they both just regressed to their prior educational institutes or they're doing something as trivial as hanging out with the group. Only once Troy and Abed allegedly swap bodies do we actually see something engaging and resembling an authentic interaction, but just as it becomes interesting, the relationship dissipates and is already dead in the water by the time the credits roll.
