This moment is a small one but fits perfectly with Troy's simple, almost childlike attitude to life.

The joke is in a flashback during an episode entitled Paradigms of Human Memory. The episode was a flashback episode, which features members of the group remembering past adventures. While this is normally done within TV shows to allow for an easy week, reusing old footage, with only a thin storyline linking the clips, Paradigms of Human memory flipped this on its head by filming all new clips for the flashbacks.

One of these occurs when Jeff talks about members of the group putting themselves before everyone else. The clip features the group coming out of a river, sans Jeff and Britta who were, as revealed later in the episode, hooking up at the time. The group are lugging a deflated raft and have life jackets on. Everyone is staring at Troy, who remarks:

"You can yell at me all you want, I've seen enough movies to know that popping the back of a raft makes it go faster."

This showing of Troy's childlike way of thinking adds a funny joke in an episode already full of hilarious one-liners.
