5. Accounting

In his everlasting search for the ultimate blow-off course, Jeff Winger settles into a notoriously easy class: accounting. But that sounds like too much work. There are numbers and subtraction and thinking. Good thing this is accounting at Greendale. When Jeff arrives he meets Professor Whitman, who is more concerned with 'seizing the day' and reenacting Dead Poets Society than he is with actually teaching. Right at the beginning of the first class, Whitman demands the students throw away their books and stand on their desks. What does this have to do with accounting? Who cares? This would be a great class to take because it would be the easiest class to get an A-plus in. All you have to do is "seize the day". That's all it takes. Do whatever it is that classifies as meeting this vague and abstract requirement. Smell a flower, eat a birthday cake for breakfast, or just look at the clouds. Anything that lives in the moment. Although, for Jeff Winger this still involves too much effort and does not come without work for him.
