Community: 15 Insane Details You Definitely Missed

Long-term storytelling. And then some.

Community Annie
NBC

Community is one of the greatest sitcoms of the last decade - if not ever - and it's been enjoying a resurgence as of late after being released on Netflix worldwide back in April.

If nothing else, the age of streaming confirms just how meticulously written, directed, and acted the show was, given the absurd number of subtle callbacks, payoffs and in-jokes which were sprinkled throughout Community's six seasons (and eventually hopefully a movie!)

Community is absolutely a sitcom which rewards those who pay attention and revisit episodes, because as these 15 ridiculous Easter eggs and secret gags make clear, the show puts more effort into even the most insignificant moments than most shows do their actual A-plots.

As you stare at these incredible hidden details in slack-jawed awe, remember to keep your eyes and ears peeled the next time you watch the show, because there's a treasure trove of secrets just waiting to be uncovered by fans - typically the fine folks over at /r/TVDetails and /r/Community...

15. Annie's Boobs Steals Annie's Pen

Community Annie
NBC

The season two episode "Cooperative Calligraphy" memorably revolves around Annie (Alison Brie) trying to figure out who stole her pen, to no avail.

However, the end of the episode hilariously reveals that Troy's (Donald Glover) pet monkey, Annie's Boobs, sneakily took the pen and added it to its sizable collection of the study group's trinkets which it has hidden inside the school's air vents.

But in true Community fashion, this wasn't merely a fun throwaway gag, as keen-eyed fans will be able to notice Annie's Boobs stealthily stealing Annie's pen in the opening moments of the episode.

When Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) distracts the gang with a puppy, the monkey can just barely be seen reaching onto the table and taking the pen, but unless you're looking for it, it's incredibly difficult to spot.
