Community Season 4: 10 Reasons You Must Watch

10. Dean Pelton/Ben Chang

I said I wouldn€™t pick on individual characters as each one is reason enough to watch Community. However, the Dean, Craig Pelton, played by Oscar-winning (Screenplay€) actor Jim Rash, and licensed physician Ken Jeong (Chang), are the two cast members directly outside the group who've always yearned, like many of the audience members, to be in the inner circle. Through the last three years, both have always been strongly relied on to induce chortles, chuckles and the occasional guffaw, and they've done it effortlessly. Both characters have proved so popular that the show has created story arcs and episodes around them and placed significant importance in the way the group has interacted with the two. Chang, in particular, seems to be at the forefront and was very much involved in a 'will they/won't they' storyline in Season Two, focused on whether or not he'd be allowed in the group. Of course, by the end of Season Three, the wannabe warlord had scarpered. Chang is mentally unstable and we wouldn't have him any other way. I don't know about you but I couldn't live without the Dean's vibrant fashion choices, Chang's 'Chang'-puns, the Dean's curious sexuality and obsession with Jeff, Chang's curious sexuality and obsession with the study group...they're both cemented in the history of the show and as long as they're both around, the show will continue to impress.
