Community's 15 Best Ever Episodes

2. Series 3 Episode 8: Documentary Filmmaking Redux

Written by Megan Ganz end of the dean's nerve FRIENDS Title The One Where the Dean Becomes a Director Quote(s) of the Week Dean: And Mr Guzment, can I just say I loved you iiiiin (signals for Annie to pass him her iphone) iiiiin€ IMDB Annie: Dean I have two men in diapers here, I know that one is the dawn in a new era of education but I have nothing on the other one€ Standout Character Dean Pelton is hands down the highlight of this episode. Jim Rash's performance here is what made me realise that the Dean is my favorite Community character of all time. The episode is centered around him (in the style of Abed in Virtual Systems Analysis) as it portrays his rise and fall in a director's seat. In classic Community style the episode goes from a fairly bonkers premise, building upon it until there is no semblance of our reality left on screen. Ultimately we come to understand something about hte focus character that we didn't before. It's great television writing and it is performed by Jim Rash to perfection. Why this Episode is so Good Since this really is his episode the short answer to this would be 'The Dean' but I'll expand somewhat. When Greendale's board of governors decide that a new advertising campaign is required they acquire the assistance of Craig Pelton to create a new tv spot. The Dean manages to acquire the aid of Luis Guzman, Hollywood actor and things go down hill from there. The Dean goes mad, obsessed with capturing the greatest television advert there has ever been on camera. This episode is wonderful, just watch it.
