FRIENDS Title The One Where Peirce Gets his Own Back Quote of the Week
Pierce - Vengeance? Huh, no. I was never one to hold a grudge, Jeffrey. My father held grudges. I'll always hate him for that. Outstanding Character Chevy Chase proves that he still has the comedic spark in this episode as
Pierce Hawthorn. He reveals the evil of Pierce, his conniving and his undeniable stupidity. This story must have been such fun for him to perform, he gets to play the whole spectrum. He gets to be the mastermind, manipulating all of the members of the study group but he also gets to lose, to be completely inept. He gets to play a senile old man as well as that senile waste of space. Why this Episode is so Good This is one of those episodes that expands upon each and every one of the regular characters. Pierce pretends to be dying and bequeaths a gift to each member of the study group. It's immensely entertaining watching him drive a wedge between Shirley and the others as well as revealing to Britta that she is not as virtuous as she pretends. Keeping the entire story going is Abed's ever-entertaining narration.
