The two had agreed in advance to split the cost, but then came the decision about the tip€ The Issue: Despite splitting the bill, Jason for some odd reason feels the need to put his own tip rather than splitting it with Larry. Larry gives $12 but Jason declines to comment on how large a tip he left. Larry€™s desire to coordinate their tips is completely warranted, yet for some reason Jason needs to feel like the bigger man. When Larry returns alone the following day, he probes the waiter for the amount Jason left.
