Curb Your Enthusiasm: 10 Worst Things Larry David Ever Did
6. Ruins The Seinfeld Reunion Episode
Curb being a fictionalised reality, starring a veteran comedian who created and wrote the Seinfeld show, it seemed only perfectly fitting that there be a Seinfeld reunion episode in the at some point. In effect, a show within a show.
But even when in Season 7 the entirety of the Seinfeld cast (Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards) come together to shoot an episode after 11 years, Larry can’t put aside his feelings for the good of the show.
The truth is Larry thinks reunion episodes are lame and only agreed to do this one in an effort to get back his ex-wife, Cheryl, by ‘guest’ casting her. But when this plan begins to fall through, he becomes paranoid that Cheryl is getting it on with Jason Alexander, an absurd notion by the way, considering his height and physical appearance in comparison to hers.
As a result, he begins to edit the episode, replacing Alexander with himself in the scenes the character shares with Cheryl, angering the actor that plays George Costanza. Larry eventually quits the show because of this fallout with Alexander, which triggers Cheryl to eventually do the same, leaving the show without its star writer and guest actress at the last minute.
But what he does next is even more idiotic…
