Cursed Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

1. The Wildly Inconsistent CGI

Though Cursed is certainly a well-produced series for the most part, it's also another Netflix Original show which is all over the place where its visual effects presentation is concerned.

It's clear that a small fortune has been poured into the show's visuals, and while this often extends the various CGI embellishments of the practical sets, there are many times where it just looks a little too cheap to pass muster.

Some of the digital creature effects are especially rough, ensuring that no matter how gorgeous the show's cinematography often is, it sometimes ends up looking like a weirdly cheap, low-fi fantasy series from years past.

While the oft-unconvincing effects don't by any means derail the show, they do suggest Netflix needed to dump some additional cash into the coffers of the VFX team.

These issues aside, though, Cursed is for the most part a solidly enjoyable fantasy romp. Here's what it gets right...
