Damien: 6 Things You Need To Know Before Watching The Omen TV Follow-Up

2. The Omen Sequels Are Not Being Treated As Canon

20th Century Fox

Damien: Omen II finds a 12-year-old Damien living under the care of his uncle Richard Thorn and his wife Ann. Long story short, they don€™t end up in much better shape than his adoptive parents after the Antichrist discovers his true nature and embraces it.

Although Damien€™s memory of his childhood is foggy in the TV series, you€™d think he€™d remember learning that he€™s the Antichrist and aligning with the forces of Satan, so it€™s safe to assume that the show is not treating Omen II as canon.

Omen III: The Final Conflict follows Damien in his early 30s, played by Sam Neill, as he attempts to fulfil his destiny by rising through the ranks of the US government. If you haven€™t already guessed from the timeline issues it would cause, this isn€™t canon either.

Regarding the reviled TV sequel, the only time the word €˜canon€™ and Omen IV: The Awakening should be used in the same sentence is when you€™re talking about firing your DVD copy out of one.
