Netflix's Daredevil stands as one of the crowning achievements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, breaking away from the bright lights, big city of the movie blockbusters and looking at a dark, seedy corner of the comic book-derived world that has more in common with crime dramas like The Wire than with Avengers: Age Of Ultron. That new spin on the MCU won the series many fans, as did a brilliantly-written and acted first season. All of that has made those fans eager for what the second season of Daredevil has in store, with Netflix confirming the existence of such not long after the opening salvo of episodes dropped on the streaming service. The main question on everybody's lips is, who will be pummelling Charlie Cox next time around? Which is to say, what bad guy will Daredevil come up against next? The smart money's been on arch nemesis Bullseye, even with casting front runner Jason Statham poo-pooing the idea. Then out of nowhere, Jon Bernthal got cast as The Punisher. The Walking Dead star will be suiting up as the fan favourite vigilante, the veteran who wages a one-man war on crime which goes a little further than the Man Without Fear is comfortable with €“ all whilst decked out in that iconic skull insignia.
