There have been many attempts at making The Punisher work on-screen, with none quite working. Either the actor was right but the script wasn't, or vice versa, or both were missing. Now, though, it looks as though they've finally nailed it. Jon Bernthal, who already has some great work behind him that suggests he's got the chops to pull off the character, seems to be relishing the role of Frank Castle, a man driven to desperate and dangerous extremes in pursuit of justice and revenge. He's physically imposing, and can certainly handle himself in the action scenes, while also having that somewhat unhinged, do-what-it-takes mindset. Oh, and the skull looks great.
